J Cole - Cant Get Enough ft. Trey Songz
The Music Video Im going to analyse is ‘Cant Get Enough’ by J Cole featuring Trey Songz. The music video can relate to both Performance and Narrative. I think this video has the element of both because the lyrics of the song relates to the music video. The lyrics is about the Guy singing (J Cole) about girls that He cant get his mind off. In the video, the singers are in paradise island where there are loads of people dancing and partying, Most of them are Girls. I also believe The video has also have the Performance element because of the dancers in the video.
The video clearly promotes it’s Star Icons (J Cole and Trey Songz) through the use of close-ups. The way the girls act around them, relates to the lyrics of the songs. Where they are surrounded by them and this recreates the whole purpose of the Narrative element of the song.
There are no refrences in this video which doesn’t create Intertextuality. The Video rarely cuts to the beat of the song.
